Family Liaison

Our family liaison serves as a link between our families and our schools. Francheska Dishmey, our family liaison, facilitates family-school communication, which empowers families to become more active partners in their children’s education.

Our family liaison works in our school and community to help families get the information and assistance they need to support their children at home and to ensure their academic success. To assist families who speak other languages, Ms. Dishmey speaks Spanish.

The Family Resource Center offers free webinars, confidential consultations, a lending library, and resources to help adults support the success of all students, including those with learning challenges, special needs, and disabilities. Their office hours are from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. They encourage families and staff to make an appointment for consultations, especially when requiring an interpreter.

Oak View and Fairfax County Public Schools welcomes all of our new and returning military-connected families during Blue Star Welcome Week and throughout the year!  Whether your family is moving permanently to the school district or living here for a short time, our schools and support staff welcome you and will be able to assist with your transition into and/or out of our district.
